TENAX CRACKSTOP


TENAX Crackstop is a polypropylene extruded net with a rectangular mesh subjected to longitudinal and transverse controlled temperature stretching for increased traction resistance.

 

TENAX Crackstop is the ideal reinforcement for any type of flooring, such as tiled, wood, vinyl, linoleum, rubber, or fabric, for small or large areas, like homes, offices, schools, nurseries, bars, restaurants, gymnasiums, sport centers, and hotels.


This net is able to distribute the slab reinforcement up to 7-8 cm thick and plaster up to 5 cm, spreading the cracking contraction along its mesh.

 

Its effectiveness means it is even suitable for:

  • floor foundations even those lightened with clay foam and polystyrene
  • the rebuilding of old and unstable walls, like ones made of stone, tuff or damaged concrete, with irregular surfaces and/or inhomogeneous material
  • the restoration of irregular and/or geometrically complex surfaces
  • the restoration of collapsed lofts and arched elements with flaking plaster, even before constructing false ceilings.

Furthermore, the plaster containment action prevents cracks and flaking caused by:

  • friction between adjacent supports with differing thermal expansion
  • friction between support and plaster due to thermal variations
  • wet/dry and icing/de-icing cycles
  • support settling.

 

The exclusive stretching process (molecular orientation) to which the product is subjected provides it with excellent resistance to traction and ductility (tolerated deformations > 10%).

 

TENAX Crackstop does not rust with infiltrations of water or carbonation, a characteristic which is typical in cement mixtures, it is also ideal for use in chemically aggressive environments; those environments where metallic nets can deteriorate with the risk of the disintegration of the work, such as marine, industrial, and highly urbanized environments.

 

The chemical inertia of polypropylene also means it can be used in restoration aimed at conservation, with lime-based products and with the same characteristics as the mortar used for building in ancient times.

 

In stabilizing graveled areas, the net distributes the loads reducing the deformation of the foundations; the reinforcement is also quick to apply given the easiness of the installation.
